statement of intent

For my documentary advert, it will follow the rules and regulations set by the ASA, meaning it will not include misleading content related to sustainability, cause harm or offence to consumers and will not include discriminatory or exploitative content. These are important because it will be advertised on billboard posters at any time, meaning young people could see it as it will be a crime documentary based on true events, to appeal to people interested in true crime and the reality behind it, the advertising will also follow the broadcasting rules ser by the federal Communications commission, such as being required to operate in public interest, convenience and necessity” my programme will be informative to those interested in the subject of crime and murder, meaning it shows warnings and behaviours exhibited by killers. It will follow content regulations, adhering to the rules against indecency and obscenity, even though it has a wide target audience of 16–25-year-olds.

My advertisement won’t convey the romanticism of murders and no positives towards the victims of this fictional case. The documentary will help all adult audiences, especially 16–25-year-olds demographic that It is targeted to, whether they are interested in crime or safety, so it is important the advertisement stays open to all adult minds. I will avoid portraying crime as a positive thing to keep everyone who watches the documentary aware of the dangers.

To adhere to my audience of 16 – 25-year-olds fans of the documentary, I will make my advertisements a clear image that features a small insight into what my documentary will include, with eye catching images that will get the audience hooked. I will use dull colours so that it isn’t tailored to either gender or using dark colours to highlight the dark sides of society. I will use taglines that keep people interested and wanting more as well as informing them of what is going to happen in the documentary whilst being brief in order to not fill up the advert with text by keeping the images the main focus.
